Author Patty Rickman

Patty D. Rickman is a domestic violence survivor, small business owner, advocate, and community organizer whose work confronts a truth many survivors come to learn too late: escaping abuse does not always mean escaping harm. As a dedicated mother and entrepreneur, Patty understands firsthand what is at stake when safety, stability, and dignity are put at risk—not just for survivors, but for the families who depend on them. Across Delaware, she has stood where survivors are rarely welcomed—courtrooms, legislative halls, and public institutions—insisting that justice must be both lawful and humane.
